Q300's Under 400 K-1 team, composed of just four exceptional players, has achieved the remarkable feat of winning 1st Place at the highly competitive 57th Annual New York State Scholastic Championship in Saratoga Springs on March 8-9, 2025!

In a tournament that draws talented young chess players from across the state, our small but mighty team of four demonstrated incredible skill, teamwork, and resilience to emerge as champions. Let's give a massive congratulations to these outstanding individuals:

  • Alex Yang, who also secured an impressive 3rd Place Individual finish!

  • Evan Yu, who fought his way to an 8th Place Individual ranking!

  • Luke Zhang, who earned a fantastic 9th Place Individual spot!

  • Kalina Mojsovska, whose crucial contributions were vital to the team's success!

Furthermore, we are immensely proud of the 21 players who represented Q300 across various sections of the State Championship. Each and every one of them played with passion and commitment, contributing to a strong overall showing for our school. While the U400 K-1 team brought home the gold, we celebrate the efforts and sportsmanship of all our participants.

Special recognition also goes to Jakov Mojsovski, who achieved an outstanding 5 wins out of 6 games in the highly competitive K-5 Under 1000 section, tying for 5th place (ranked 18th after tiebreak). His individual success is a testament to the depth of talent within Q300 chess.

This championship victory, spearheaded by our mighty U400 K-1 team and supported by the strong performances of all 21 of our representatives, is a proud moment for the entire Q300 community. It reflects the hard work of our students, the dedication of our coaches, and the unwavering support of our families.
