New York Chess Academy at the 2021 Fall Festival

Updated: Oct 26, 2021

On Saturday, October 2nd this year, NYCA had the opportunity to take part in the highly-anticipated Fall Festival organized by the Parents Association at P.S. 144. Set up in the schoolyard, the purpose of this festival was to give local businesses, vendors, and activity providers a chance to come together and create something special for the kids and their families. From food stalls and crafts to fun sports activities and even an inflatable slide, there was something there for everyone to enjoy.

NYCA had a booth set up where kids could try out playing chess together - overseen by our experienced coaches. With the amount of other exciting stalls at the festival, we never could have anticipated how successful our chess stall was going to be. We were very pleased to see kids lining up to play chess all throughout the event. We felt very lucky and truly honored to have garnered so much interest. There were so many eager participants at our booth that we could have done with bringing a few more chess boards to go around!

All in all, it was a very successful day. It was great to see so many families having fun and all those local businesses thriving. We look forward to taking part in any future events organized by the P.S. 144 Parents Association, and we are very grateful for the opportunity they granted us. We hope to see you all again soon!
