Coach Mark became a master at the age of nine and received the Grand Master title at the age of 20. Aside from being a professional grandmaster, he has been teaching chess internationally and across the US for a number of years. Mark is still an active tournament player with a peak FIDE rating of 2621. He is also part of the main team who co-founded the NYCA.
